Geostatistics and Heterogeneity Modeling

Geostatistical Model / Uncertainty Analysis

IRT has significant experience in the application of geostatistical methods of heterogeneity modeling. Moreover, IRT is accustomed to working with large conditioning datasets of 100 or more wells. Geostatistical techniques often provide a more accurate representation of the internal reservoir architecture by properly modeling the spatial distribution of reservoir facies and capturing the spatial variability of the reservoir properties. Many of these techniques being stochastic in nature allow us to explore the uncertainty in the reservoir description (e.g., volume, connectivity) by generating multiple realizations. The realizations can be analyzed to assess risk and to improve reservoir management.
